My name is Betty LaMarr, and this blog is where my love of travel, my passion for uplifting women and girls, and my lifelong curiosity about the world come together. I created this space especially for women 60+, solo travelers, and anyone who believes that exploring the world — and ourselves — does not have an expiration date.
For more than two decades, I have journeyed across continents, immersed myself in vibrant cultures, and learned from extraordinary women and communities along the way. These experiences have shaped not only how I travel, but how I live. They have shown me that travel at any age can be joyful, empowering, and deeply transformative.
When I first began writing, my focus was on encouraging women over 50 to embrace adventure with confidence. As time passed, both my journey and my community evolved. Many of the women who joined me in the early days are now in their 60s, entering a bold and meaningful new chapter of life. Today, my mission reflects that evolution — to guide and inspire women 60+ who are ready to travel boldly and fully embrace their lives.
This blog grew from that belief, and it continues to guide everything I share here.
Travel has expanded my world. Advocacy has deepened my purpose. Writing brings the two together.
I write to offer guidance and confidence to women who want to explore the world on their own terms — whether it is their first solo journey or the beginning of a new chapter.
I write to share insights that come only from lived experience.
